Gibson Explorer Faded Worn Brown 2008 (Pre-owned)

The Explorer body shape first came to fruition in 1958, offering a more radical "futuristic" design for the time. However the guitar was not as popular as other models during its first run, due to its design considered to be too extreme for the time. However, in years since the Explorer has become a staple of the Gibson line-up, finding its own feet from the 1970s o onwards.

The mahogany body is sleek and has a nice weight, paired with a mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. The thin finish on the wood offers a smooth feel, and keeps the wood protected from the wilderness.

The original pickups have been swapped out for a EMG 81 & 60 set, harkening back to the days of Metallica where Hetfield to this day is still known for playing Explorer body shapes with EMG pickups loaded into them. This makes this guitar perfect for metal, but EMGs do offer a beautiful clean sound, and the 81/60 set is no different.

This guitar has a couple of visual flaws and wear on upper horn of the body, but this does not affect the playability of the instrument.

This guitar comes with a hard case.
