More than just a novelty instrument, the Kala U Bass is a phenomenal short scale instrument, offering superb clarity and excellent playability.

The all solid Mahogany construction offers superior volume and resonance, giving a lovely warm tone that also cuts through when needed. This is paired with a mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard which is silky smooth under the fingers, also thanks in part to the rubber strings, which allow for hours of playing with little to no fatigue.

The U-Bass is loaded with a active pickup and preamp. allowing this instrument to be amplified. It offers a staggering amount of bass end, almost likened to a double bass. This instrument sits well with other ukuleles, or in a live scenario if required.
